The State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS, is

seeking applications from qualified non-profit agencies

to submit competitive proposals to receive a portion of whatsoever available Pandemic Emergency Assistance Funds (PEAF)

Pandemic Emergency Assistance Fund (PEAF)

The Nevada Sectionalization of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) has been given the opportunity through the American Rescue Programme Human activity (ARPA) of 2021 Pandemic Emergency Assistance Fund (PEAF) to further assistance needy Nevada families impacted past COVID-19.

    The plan is administered by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) through state and local government agencies within certain broad federal requirements and guidelines. On August 22, 1996, President Clinton signed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA). This police force eliminated the open up-ended federal entitlement program of AFDC and created a block grant for states to provide time-limited cash assistance for needy families. The new program is chosen Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
