This vehicle WAS my pride and joy. I kept in washed, waxed, clean and covered to protect it. I always receive comments nearly the low mileage and not bad condition information technology is in. Information technology looks better than trucks 10 years newer. I WAS proud to drive a Ford. I accept always had problems with the windows--intermittently--since the truck was new.
Since the windows would eventually work later on, and I was able to eventually go them up, I postponed having the problems investigated. This time, notwithstanding, I parked the vehicle and covered information technology for about 2 days. When I uncovered information technology, the passenger side front window was downwards. When I pressed the switch, all I heard was a grinding noise, and the window did not move. I drove information technology to work in cold temperatures.
Afterwards piece of work, I took it to the dealer from whom I purchased it, but they were extremely busy and it was almost the end of the 24-hour interval. Severe storms with heavy rain were coming the next day. When I asked the service manager if there was a way to get the window upwardly to prevent rain from entering, he said no. He gave me a piece of plastic to put over the window until I could get information technology stock-still (Safe Take a chance--Y'all CANNOT See ALL TRAFFIC). I declined to put the plastic over my window while driving but took it home. I eventually covered the vehicle with ii truck covers to keep the rain out.
I collection the vehicle back to the dealer the adjacent Tuesday morning, and it was Common cold!!! The service manager stated that I also need a rider side switch because it had shorted out. I did not have $95.00 in addition to the $417.43 I had to pay, so I declined (the master switch would raise and lower the window). Three hours after, $417.43 and a missed day of piece of work ($$$$) because of a window? If only the people who adore the truck knew what I know.
Update from Apr 17, 2018: I FORGOT TO MENTION I Accept VERY EXPENSIVE Audio EQUIPMENT IN THIS VEHICLE (ALPINE & JL), AND I Alive IN AN AREA WHERE Machine THEFTS AND BURGLARIES ARE COMMON--WHY I TOOK A DAY OFF FROM Piece of work TO Effort TO PROTECT IT.

I woke up ane morning to look out my kitchen window to come across my passenger window open. My first thought was someone smashed my window out. Here the window fell downwards inside the door. It cost me $380.00 to get it fixed at the dealer. I wasn't aware of a window problem with 2004 Ford F-150 .

I was driving down the route when the driver side window barbarous down within the door during a rain storm. This is the second time this happened in iii years. The window trouble happened during a rainy calendar week here in the e. When you lot own a Ford F-150 y'all demand to conduct plastic and tape with you at all times. In iii years I will have spent roughly over $700.00 for a plastic part failure. I experience Ford should repair or reimburse owners for the repairs.

First Criminal offence (60k miles-ish): Loaned the vehicle to a friend who has young, unruly kids and it came back with a broken rear window regulator. Adequately irritating, simply assumed it was abuse due to the kids playing with switches. Replaced it myself for $138.
2d Offense (61k miles): Driving dwelling in a massive monsoon and passenger side window starts slowly opening. Pushed the upwardly switch and information technology fell all the way downwardly. Had to bulldoze home xxx miles with the window wide open up in a massive storm... the kind where wipers are on loftier and yous still tin't see the road. The entire passenger side of the truck was soaked. When disassembling and analyzing the trouble this time, I establish the trouble was the nubbin on the end of the cable pulled out of the cheap plastic connector. Once more, replaced it myself for $138.
After the second offense and analyzing what I determined to be a terrible pattern, I researched this problem to see if information technology was simply me or this was a common outcome. It's appalling the number of complaints near this. Ford should be ashamed of themselves.

Every single window in my truck has vicious down in the door. I've had 3 fixed all ready i twice now once once more aforementioned trouble i take contacted Ford about issue. They said there is no recall on windows. Well when yous're riding down the road and a window falls, your family unit gets real cold and sick. Information technology also put family unit in danger, if we had a wreck. All I ask is Ford to step upwardly an protect and guarantee their production when in that location is a problem. I love my truck ! That is the simply issue I take ever had with information technology.

My beginning driver'south side window just disappeared at 70 mph on interstate. I call my repair shop. Was informed that this happens all the time, a inexpensive plastic piece breaks and the window just slides downwardly. A few hours subsequently and with $400 less cash on hand. I call Ford! Did yous know they accept never heard of this trouble.
Where I'm going with this is since May 2013 and yesterday viii/vii/2014, I have replace the right rear window, aforementioned cleaved cheap plastic part, and yesterday 8/seven/2014, I replaced the left rear window, same cheap broken function. What's wrong hither??? Ford motor company would never tell a customer they have no knowledge of a mutual repair problem their customers are having to bargain with... OR WOULD THEY?

I lost the passenger rear window regulator when I walked out of a grocery store on my way to Ocrakoe NC. Just earlier I was getting on the ferry. As luck would take it I had the role as my friend, who is a mechanic, and had replaced two others for me had told me to get it and he would supplant the concluding one. We had not counted on doing it on vacation. But at that place he was in the parking lot of our temporary habitation tearing my door panel off. Had he and his girlfriend not been west/ me, my vacation would have been ruined because how does one leave one's truck without a window for iv days in a parking lot?
I lost the commuter side front window regulator during a snowfall storm and then the driver rear window regulator on a Sunday morning in Aug on my way to the marina. That same evening driving home on Rt 95 in Northern Virginia, where the speed limit is equal to a NASCAR race, I lost the passenger side front window regulator. That meant taping plastic over the window for the night. I took the door panel off, since by this time I had enough feel at watching information technology existence washed, and jimmied the window up. I used a wood shim to concord until I could get both fixed.
I'm reporting each as a split up incident. Then now all 4 window regulators take been replaced.

2nd window regulator to fail on my truck. First fourth dimension it was the front driver's side. This fourth dimension it was the rear passenger side. Luckily, it didn't occur in the eye of a thunderstorm or in the centre of the winter when information technology's zero degrees. Leap to happen sooner or subsequently though. Shame on Ford for not correcting some other known problem with their vehicles. Luckily, I'chiliad up to the task of replacing them myself rather than paying a dealership to practise it.

My window regulators broke 2 days apart. 8/1/2020 and viii/3/2020. This volition be the second time to supplant them. They lasted about ten years. I've ordered new ones but, in the hateful fourth dimension I had to remove one door panel to pull the window up so I could lock the truck. Pain in the donkey to remove the panel and will leave information technology off till the new regulator arrives. I inappreciably ever put the windows downwardly, and then I estimate something must have fatigued in the poor design of this regulator.
